Seems like when I bought my AM/FM Radio, I became the owner. When I modified it to perform as a Short-Wave radio, the manufacturer did not have the right to download an upgrade, and turn it off, on the premise that it was receiving short-wave stations. The same thing applies when I purchase an iPhone. When I buy the iPhone, I own it.
